Formed in 2004 as a 501c3 non-profit organization, The Blue and Gold Foundation raises funds to support Chamblee High School and the greater Chamblee Community. The Blue and Gold Foundation offers support for the CHS Legacy of Excellence in many ways, including:
- Provides numerous grants throughout the year as requested by teachers and administration to support academic programming, extracurricular activities and needed equipment
- Annually awards Westby College Scholarship and Dante Porter Scholarship to two graduating CHS Seniors
- Coordinates Senior Legacy Gift for each graduating class
- Annually hosts Hall of Fame event to award and recognize notable alumni, former faculty, CHS parent volunteers and businesses
- Hosts Silent Auction and Gala fundraiser every other year to support of CHS projects
- Stores and preserves CHS memorabilia
- Liaison with CHS alumni and alumni events
- Provides annual updates to sports banners and STAR Student and Teacher plaques
The Board of Directors is led by Executive Director Cheryl Finke and the Board includes former CHS parents, alumni, current and retired teachers and administrators, community leaders, and other supporters of Chamblee High School.
